Jobs from forms
Jobs from forms lets your own paperwork run the job list. A form set up to open a job creates it from a phone, and a close-out form closes it.
Request a demoOpened by a form your crew files
Filing a form set up to open a job creates the job and makes that record its opening record. The form's answers become the job's name, number, customer, dates and location. Without location answers, the job uses the phone's location sealed into the record, when there is one. The job and its opening record are saved together, so a retried form never makes two jobs.
Picked on the forms that follow
Forms with a Job field list the open jobs, newest at the top. Nothing is picked until someone picks it. The pick is checked again when the form is filed, and a job that has closed is refused. Crews keep filing at the same company link and pick the job there.
Closed by the close-out
A close-out form closes the job when its yes or no question says the work is complete. Any other answer keeps the job open, and the crew's phone says so. The end date is the completion date on the form, or the day the close-out was filed.
A folder for every job
Each job's folder lists every record filed for it, in the order it happened. Admins and safety managers can download the folder as one ZIP of PDFs and photos, with a README in date order. A photo that does not match the sealed record is left out, and the README says why. Every download is written to the activity log.
The job page
The job page shows the customer, the dates and the facts the opening form carried. Named places from the form, such as a water meter or a dump site, each link to a map. The page names the record that opened the job and the one that closed it. An admin can reopen a closed job.
What Jobs from forms is not
Which forms open or close a job is set during account setup, not from a screen in the app. It does not reuse a job number already on your account. Crews cannot pick a closed job on a form.
- Who decides which forms open and close jobs?
- It is set during account setup. The setup names your own questions, because every company's paperwork differs.
- What if two jobs have the same name?
- The list puts the job number in front of the name when the job has one. Two jobs that still read the same get their start date added.
- Can a crew file against a closed job?
- No. The pick is checked again when the form is filed, and a closed job is refused.
- What else does it need?
- Jobs from forms adds to Project dashboards, and a job page needs both turned on.
