The AI layer

The AI layer adds written help in a few places in Panora. An emergency event runs start to finish with it switched off.

Ask the board

During a live event, an Ask the board bar sits on the muster board. It answers by looking up that event's records, without changing them. Counts come straight from the database, so a shortened list is never passed off as the total. Any signed-in user can ask while the event is open.

Draft the instruction

On the start form, Draft with AI writes one or two calm sentences from the event type, site and muster point. It fills the instruction box, and a person still edits it and starts the event. Left blank, the instruction uses set wording for that event type, with no AI involved.

The after-action summary

When a resolved event's report is opened, a two-paragraph AI summary is written once and kept. The model is told to use the facts given and never invent names, times, causes or injuries. The summary is saved on the event, and the report still opens if a summary cannot be written.

Suggestions in Sheets

In Sheets, AI can draft actions taken, suggest a root cause and a priority, write a monthly narrative, and answer questions about a sheet. Emails, phone numbers and known names are removed before anything is sent. Nothing is written to a record until a person clicks Accept. Each account is capped at 200 suggestions a day.

Kept off the alert path

The code that starts an event does not call AI. Where AI is not set up, the AI buttons and panels do not appear. An admin can switch the AI layer off in Settings.

What the AI layer is not

Ask the board does not change anyone's status. It is not in the path of an alert. Names are not removed in the emergency features: Ask the board and the summary send them to the AI model.

Can we turn it off?
Yes. An admin can switch the AI layer off in Settings, and events run the same without it.
Does AI change our records?
Ask the board reads and changes nothing. The summary is saved on the event, and a Sheets suggestion is written when a person accepts it.
Who can use Ask the board?
Any signed-in user, while the event is open.
